To remove and restore the pump motors for maintenance scaffolding needed to be erected around each pump. The pumps were underground, in a confined space with narrow stair access. During the work, only extremely limited communication was possible due to the very high noise level.

An extra wide, heavy duty rubbish ramp needed to be installed to discard demolished interiors safely into the scarp bin.

A scaffolding working platform 20 metres long and on top of a steep 4m high bank was installed around tree trunks to enable safe construction of footpath retaining beams and handrails.

All around roof edge protection scaffolding for restoration of the complete roof. Public access had to be organized and all Health & Safety requirements of City Care were fully met.
